Since I came to the U.S., I’ve felt nervous again and again like “I feel difficulty living in this place.”
However, what I can do now is enjoy my life as much as possible. To do so, I needed to find my shortages, avoid fighting using them, and concentrate on my strengths.
Single-task vs. Multi-task
When I spend my daily life, I feel everyone can multitask. I was shocked because I was not able to do what I thought I treated them in a day.
I forgot that I cannot multitask. What I can do it now is do each task one by one.
Not stretching too much
Generally, challenging new things is great so that you can escape your comfort zone. Nevertheless, you have to know that you have difficulty understanding whether you are in your growth zone or in your danger zone.
For instance, I am poor at chatting in English so I want to fix this. I felt that I am poor at contacting fast and frequently because people around me get in touch with someone frequently by sending texts and calls.
However, considering it calm, I am poor at chatting even in my native language. I remembered I suddenly got a cold sweat when I went to each party where I needed to meet lots of unknown people for me.
Say anything!
Especially in the academic field, it is really stressful that I cannot make sentences. I want to say something, but I cannot compose words because I may focus on listening.
I just realize that I need to concentrate on what I can say automatically such that I’m really curious about this topic.
