Speed Up!

When I tried to do some homework, I faced a big problem, “I cannot finish homework till the due time!”

I manage to follow the classes, but I cannot finish doing my homework. So, I was really confused about how to solve this problem.

However, I was not able to find it so I fought against homework each day. One day, I got a cold and was not able to study anymore.

I found I needed to change my method.

Thinking new timeline

To change my method, I try several things. I’ll introduce you below.

I thought that I miscalculated the time estimation. I automatically considered doing homework in a native language. I tried to add some buffer, but it isn’t enough.

At last, I cannot find the right time. I cannot reach the affordance of thinking priorities. I need to do what I want to do one by one.

Exposing new words

When I face new words, it takes time to imagine their meanings. I felt stressed in these situations for the first time.

However, I suddenly understand that it may be stressed even if it teaches in my native language.

I simply don’t know the topic. Furthermore, using the word about three times, I start to be familiar with the topic.

Abstract thoughts

I need to get some academic thoughts, but I realize that I am poor at abstract thoughts.

Precisely, I can talk something about each topic, but I cannot want to do it by myself. Only when there are some topics given by professors, I reluctantly start talking because I need to do.

When I imagine how the word uses, I can do it easily. I should think about academic topics based on my experience.

I admired thinking abstractly, but I cannot do this. I can make a good presentation only when I make slides based on my experiences.

Experience!!

What I can do now is do output activities as much as possible. Honestly, reading textbooks again and again doesn’t broaden my perspective as I imagined.

I need to broaden what I can imagine. I realize understanding backgrounds is important.
